Lock Explanation
The term token lockup refers to a specific period of time in which cryptocurrency tokens cannot be transacted or traded.

What are locks?

Locks are basically a way to deliberately limit the maximum circulating supply of tokens until a certain condition is not met, in Melodity’s case this condition is a precise moment in time from where users can access a predefined percentage of their tokens.

Why have you chosen to use locks?

The answer to this question is pretty easy, in order to grant a wise and profitable investment for all the early adopters and to avoid the sell-off of a large number of tokens just once the TGE is ended, there is one methodology only, not to allow the users to access their funds immediately so that the market doesn’t get overwhelmed by the full supply immediately.

Does the lock apply also to the dev and company funds?

Of course yes, developers, people who received the dev donations and also Do inc. receive the funds following a fixed and immutable time schedule as everyone else. Particularly the time schedule for all the above owners is defined as follow:
  • 20% released immediately
  • 20% released annually in 4 years after the end of the TGE

Which are the lock times?

The lock time varies depending on the buyer type and buys time the following list should be enough exhaustive (remark that the TGE ending time is 31-03-2022 23:59:59 GMT):
TGE:
  • 10% immediately released
  • 15% released after 3 months (90 days) from the buy time
  • 25% released after 9 months (270 days) from the buy time
  • 25% released after 15 months (450 days) from the buy time
  • 25% released after 21 months (630 days) from the buy time

Private Sale:

  • 10% immediately released
  • 15% released after 6 months (180 days) from the buy time
  • 25% released after 6 months (180 days) from the TGE ending time
  • 25% released after 12 months (360 days) from the TGE ending time
  • 25% released after 18 months (540 days) from the TGE ending time

Dev team, Do Inc. & Dev donations

  • 20% immediately released
  • 20% released after 1 year (360 days) from the TGE ending time
  • 20% released after 2 years (720 days) from the TGE ending time
  • 20% released after 3 years (1080 days) from the TGE ending time
  • 20% released after 4 years (1440 days) from the TGE ending time
